Sarah Jessica Parker has hinted that there could be "one more story to tell" in a third and final Sex and the City film to end six successful TV series and two major movies.
The 45-year-old actress has said she could foresee herself stepping back into Carrie Bradshaw's well-worn Manolos for a Sex and the City 3, following the previous success of the two box office hits, despite the second sequel being critically panned.
Speaking from the set of her new film, I don't Know How She Does It based on the novel by journalist Allison Pearson in New York, the mother-of-three told the L.A Times:
"I would go back. I think there's one more story to tell. I know there is."
But SJP admitted that we could be in for a wait, and speaking about the film's producer Michael Patrick King, she continued:
"I'd definitely tell that [third] story, and I know Michael would do it right. But maybe not now. Maybe in five years, you know? It's not that I want to get away from it. In a million years, who could get away from it?"
But the star is currently enjoying challenging film roles, and thinks that filming a final instalment now could be too easy.
She added:
"If I'm not scared again that's not good for me. If I'm not terrified and nauseous and worried the first two weeks of production, then what's going to happen? You could wither on the vine. It's like if you can't use your leg. It just atrophies."
And on the exciting recent rumours that Gossip Girl star Blake Lively could be set to star as a young Carrie Bradshaw in a SATC prequel, she seemed slightly uncertain, saying:
"I was like, 'Wha-a-a-a-t? There are a lot of important and interesting stories that 21-year-olds can tell. I don't begrudge any 21-year-old the opportunity to tell their stories. They prove to us on an everyday basis that they're interesting. Even their narcissism is interesting. Even their inertia is interesting. Even their tonal speech patterns are interesting."
If we didn't know better, we'd think that was a dig at the younger starlet...
She added:
"But I don't think we can pretend to go back. It's creating two histories. It's like, 'Oh I didn't know that about Carrie Bradshaw.'"
We thought Lively would have made a perfect Carrie Bradshaw...
