Ricky Martin discusses ‘coming out’ decision

Ricky Martin has admitted that hiding his sexuality had become “too painful”. Earlier this year, Ricky revealed he was gay in a posting on his official website and the star has told Oprah Winfrey that while it wasn’t easy, as a father of two young children it was decision he had to make.
"When I realised, OK, I just pressed send, whoo... I was alone. I was in my studio alone for a minute. My assistant walked in and I just started crying like a little baby,” Ricky explained. “I started crying. I couldn't take it anymore. It was too painful.
“But I guess the most important thing is my children. When I was holding them in my arms I was like, 'What, am I gonna teach them how to lie?'” Ricky added. “Whoa, that is my blessing right there. When I was holding my children I said, 'OK, it's time to tell the world.'"
