Noel Gallagher's like the grumpy old man of rock these days, with a twinkle in his eye that belies his dry-as-the-desert sense of humour.
Despite his younger years being all about shouting louder than his brother, or just generally at his brother, Noel's mellowed, and even has his own Huffington Post blog to express his thoughts about the world.
If he had taken Gary Barlow's job on the X Factor as he was asked to, chances are it'd be a very different show. Frankly, if he hadn't turned it down, I'd love to see both of them up there… Louis Walsh, your time is up.
Anyway, Noel's been talking about a reporter who claimed he'd been banned from Noel's solo gig after he wrote a bad review. Let's face it, Noel has a high enough opinion of himself and his music (understatement) to not care about that.
He wrote:
"There was also a story in one of the local newspapers that I'd had some hairdresser-turned-journalist BANNED from the gig for apparently sh*tting on my album? A ludicrous claim.
"As you might guess, I'm not an avid reader of the local Edinburgh News. Sounds like someone trying to make a name for himself, if you ask me."
Let's face it, looking back on his history of saying things for press, Noel would know…
