It's been a dreadful week for Amy Winehouse's family, what with the foundation that was set up in the singer's name being hijacked, but hopefully this should provide some sort of consolation for Mitch and Janis - their daughter had no illegal drugs in her system when she died on 23 July.
After an initial autopsy failed to determine the 27-year-old's cause of death, a toxicology report was ordered and some of the findings were announced in a statement by family spokesman Chris Goodman:
"Toxicology results returned to the Winehouse family by authorities have confirmed that there were no illegal substances in Amy's system at the time of her death.
"Results indicate that alcohol was present, but it cannot be determined as yet if it played a role in her death. The family would like to thank the police and coroner for their continuing thorough investigations and for keeping them informed throughout the process. They await the outcome of the inquest in October."
