Mel B: ‘I fought Murphy for justice’

Mel B has said she felt ashamed former boyfriend Eddie Murphy denied he was the father of their three-year-old daughter Angel, Contactmusic reports. Mel and Eddie dated in 2006 but their relationship came to an abrupt end in December of that year when Murphy, during an appearance on Dutch television, denied the baby Mel had just announced she was carrying was his.
"Angel is three and I didn't expect her real biological father to pop back into her life. I think, in my mind, I fought so hard for justice at the very beginning of my pregnancy,” Mel explained. “I was hanging my head in shame because everyone was like, 'Is that really the father?' but I knew what I knew.
"I had to move to the beach, I had paparazzi following me everywhere, I had people calling me a gold digger and saying that I got pregnant on purpose,” she added. “It was a horrible time, so I had to make sure I wasn't frustrated by what everyone was saying and forget what actually went on."
In June 2007, DNA tests proved Murphy was indeed Angel’s father.
