As we wait to discover who will be designing Kate Middleton's royal gown and whether or not Kate Moss will continue to commission John Galliano for her wedding dress despite his recent scandal, it's now been confirmed that Lily Allen has chosen Chanel creative director Karl Lagerfeld to create her dress.

The 25-year-old singer is planning to marry 32-year-old Sam Cooper, who she has been dating since 2009, later this year. The star popped to Paris yesterday for the French capital's fashion week and to meet with Lagerfeld to discuss dresses.

Speaking to reporters outside his studio, Lily said, "I’m here to see Karl for my wedding dress."

Lily, who fronted the Chanel Coco Cocoon handbag campaign back in 2009, also sat in the front row next former T4 presenter and model Alexa Chung at the Chanel show, Tweeting on her way home later that day, "Chanel show in Paris was lovely. On my way home now, think I might hide for a while."

Lily will appear in a Channel 4 documentary, to be aired next Tuesday, which show the star's venture into fashion with the recent opening of her vintage boutique, Lucy In Disguise, with older sister and business partner Sarah Owen. The shop loans out designer items which most would not be able to afford to buy.

During the programme, the singer discussed her grief over losing her baby last year six months into pregnancy, following her tragic miscarriage in 2008, saying, "It was a really long battle - and I think that kind of thing changes a person."

She also spoke about suffering from an eating disorder, adding, "There was a point last summer (2009) where I had an eating disorder, I used to vomit after meals. It is not something I am proud of. But I tell you what, a lot of people used to come up to me and tell me how great I looked.

"But I wasn’t happy, I really wasn’t. I would like to be the skinniest, mini-est person in the world, but I know I can’t do that without being unhappy. I like my food.

"People who are famous and successful and live in this mad world tend to die really early, or kill themselves, or die in a drugs overdose. I’d rather not so I figure I will go and eat."

Unimpressed with the press coverage about the upcoming documentary, Lily also Tweeted yesterday, "Have just Googled myself, am depressed. Going home and switching off broadband. I just get upset when some people can’t see how nice and brilliant I am. Good day to you all."
