Lady Gaga makes her catwalk debut
Shes already produced the music for friend and stylist Nicola Formichettis debut menswear show for Mulger and collaborated with the designer on the first womenswear collection under his creative direction, now Lady Gaga has turned supermodel and graced the catwalk for the very first time.
The outlandish superstar singer made her catwalk debut last night during Paris Fashion Week at the Mugler - formerly Thierry Mugler - autumn/winter 2011 show. The pop star modelled two looks from the collection, firstly smoking a cigarette in a black PVC outfit with sheer panels, statement pink side ponytails and a triangle hat. Later, she returned wearing a full-length white corset gown, huge matching platform boots and an oversized hat whipping a long piece of chiffon as she walked the catwalk, which resembled a gothic cathedral with church-like pillars peppering the walkway.
After lending her musical talents to Formichettis menswear show earlier this year, Gaga acted as musical director once more for last nights show, with the airing of thumping techno remixes of tracks from her new album, Born This Way, plus the current single of the same name.
And the clothes? Edgy black and white pieces - think jumpsuits and sculptural dresses - plus royal blue skinny leather trousers, see-through knitwear, furs with power shoulders, sheer body-stocking dresses and lashings of latex rubber in keeping with the signature sexy fetish look of Thierry Mugler in the 80s.
The show was streamed live last night through the Mugler Facebook page. Missed it? Then watch the video clip below to take a look (and a listen) for yourself.
