Katy Perry nominated for nine MTV VMAs

Katy Perry's grating attention-grabbing schtick appears to have done it for her again, as she's been nominated for nine MTV Video Music Awards.
She disappointed us all earlier this week by denying reports that her marriage to gorgeous funnyman Russell Brand is in trouble, and now has the MTV Awards in August in her sights.
It's not all bad though, the much more talented Adele is also up for seven awards at the ceremony, which will take place in LA. With that and her Mercury Music Prize nomination, it's looking like a good week for the singer, even if she can't move out of her mum's place.
