Katy Perry has announced she will be taking a break from Twitter after receiving a number of abusive messages about her upcoming wedding to Russell Brand. Katy and Brand, both avid tweeters, are due to tie the knot in India this weekend but, after being sent several negative messages about her big day, Perry has said she will be giving the blogging site a rest for a while, the Mirror reports.
"@katyperry I'm just trying to save you from that FILTHY F**KING PIECE OF S**T, DUMBASS C**K! HE'S THE UGLIEST F**KING C**K EVER AND HE DOESN'T GIVE A F**K 'BOUT U, HE'S JUST S**T! THAT F**KING C**K IS CHEATING ON U! LEAVE THAT S**TTY C**K! (sic)" One angry message read.
Katy was quick to announce her break. "I have something to say... TWIT BREAK: Greatest gift u can give us is respect & ♥ during this private X (sic),” she tweeted. “No use wasting ur X w/ STOLEN or FALSE info. Thnku for this (sic)."
