Katy Perry has converted Russell Brand

The world thought it was an impossible task, but Katy Perry says she has managed to tame formerly wild man Russell Brand. No, not his hair, that's completely untameable, but his personality.
See? It just goes to show that if you chip away at them for long enough…
According to the Telegraph, the singer, whose parents were pastors, has managed to persuade her new husband to tone down his act, quoting her as saying:
"Russell has made very blasphemous jokes in the past, but he's making fewer all the time because he knows that I am very sensitive about this subject.
"You can be frivolous and fun without needing to get involved in that. And I don't know why that only happens to the Christian religion. I don't see people simulating sex with statues of Buddha, for example.
"For me, spirituality is something very important and I don't like it when people take it lightly. At times, I don't understand why there are artists who play that card, like when Madonna gets up on a cross to sing."
This follows on from Perry's criticism of Lady Gaga's Telephone video last year, when she said:
"Using blasphemy as entertainment is as cheap as a comedian telling a fart joke."
Not sure what Brand's West Ham footie mates will think of his new 'safe' act, particularly since the comedian previously claimed he'd never change, saying after Andrew Sachs-gate:
"I ain't afraid, I don't give a ––––. I will not lose my edge."
Ricky Gervais will be apologising to Tom Cruise next...
