Kate Middleton's parents spending 100k on wedding?
Kate Middleton - making her mum and dad skint?
Hopefully Pippa Middleton never wants to get hitched...
According to reports, Carole and Michael Middleton are set to fork out £100,000 for their daughter's royal wedding, which means the £97,000 inheritance left to them by Kate's grandfather will be wiped out.
According to the Sunday Times, hotel suites, bridal gowns, bridesmaids' dresses, the maid of honour's outfit and the honeymoon are all set to be covered by the Kate's side of the family, which seems a bit unfair really...
In a cost break-down, the Daily Mail claims the hotel bill alone for family and friends to stay at London's Goring hotel is expected to exceed £20,000. Then there's Kate's bridal gowns (yep, multiple) which are thought to have cost at least £30,000. Even Pippa's maid of honour frock is expected to add another £20,000 to the bill, which might come as some sort of consolation (maybe she can double it up as a bridal gown if she ever gets hitched?).
Taking to The Sunday Times, a Clarence House spokesperson said:
"The Middletons have offered to contribute to the cost of the wedding. How much they contribute is a private matter."
Do you think they're doing the right thing - or should they let the groom's family foot the bill?
