Johnny Depps surprise visit
Pirates Of The Caribbean star Johnny Depp.
Johnny Depp made a surprise visit to a Greenwich primary school yesterday, dressed in his full Captain Jack Sparrow costume. Johnny is in London filming the fourth film in the Pirates Of The Caribbean series, On Stranger Tides, but took time out of his day to meet the pupils at the Meridian Primary School after receiving a letter from nine-year-old Beatrice Delap.
"Captain Jack Sparrow, at Meridian primary school we are a bunch of budding young pirates. Normally we're a right handful but we're having trouble mutinying against the teachers, Beatrice wrote in her letter. "We'd love it if you could come and help.
Beatrice admitted there were gasps and screams when Johnny and four of his fellow co-stars arrived in full pirate regalia. "Johnny Depp walked in dressed as Captain Jack. There were gasps and screams. He pulled my letter out of his pocket and said he was going to frame it. Then he called me down and gave me a hug," she told the Evening Standard. "He said the pirates were going to take over the school and only eat candy and our teeth would turn black and fall out... but he said we shouldn't mutiny against the teachers because there were police outside and we might get in trouble. It was the most exciting day ever."
Johnnys 15-minute visit is the latest in a long-line of awesome behaviour from the star. In 2007, after his daughter was treated for E.Coli in Great Ormond Street Hospital, Johnny made a £1million donation to the hospital, spent four hours dressed as Captain Jack reading stories to the patients and took members of the staff on a VIP night out to a film premiere. In 2009, while filming Public Enemies he left the waiting staff at his favourite local restaurant a £2,800 tip and, upon finishing the film, made good on a promise hed made to give the hat he wore in the film to a local boy hed met.
