Gavin Rossdale reveals gay affair

Gavin Rossdale regrets admitting he had a short gay affair with an ‘80s pop singer, the New York Daily News reports. During a recent interview with Details magazine, Gavin was asked about ‘80s star Marilyn’s claims that the pair had had a relationship. Rossdale – who’s married to Gwen Stefani – confirmed they had and explained why he hadn’t said anything about the relationship before.
“I think at the outset there was a sort of fear — that was right at the beginning of Bush [Gavin’s recently reformed band], and I didn’t want it to be part of it,” he explained. “It felt like a cheap shot, so I was like, ‘I’m not getting involved’. “I’ve never wanted to appear closed about it. It’s not something I’ve talked about really because it’s always been in the glare of a tabloid world. It’s just one of those things — move on. When you’re 17, Jesus Christ, I don’t think there’s anything strange about any form of anything — you’re learning about life. It’s a part of growing up. That’s it. No more, no less.”
However, insiders have told the New York Daily News that, following the interview, Rossdale pleaded with the magazine bosses not to print his admission. “Gwen didn’t know that Gavin and Marilyn were actually involved,” a source claimed. “Gavin always said before that they were just friends, and that’s what she believed, until Gavin had to tell her because of the interview in Details.”
