Elton John nominated for Celebrity Dad of The Year award
Sir Elton John and David Furnish have been short-listed for the Celebrity Dad of the Year award.
The singer and his long-term partner David became parents to son Zachary in December 2010 through a surrogate mother and are the first gay couple to be nominated for the award which, according to the organisers, aims to “reward the celebrity dad who has impressed the nation by balancing a hectic public life with the demands of parenting.”
Other nominees for the award, which is sponsored by Premiere Inn, include Wayne Rooney, David Beckham, Jonathan Ross and Gary Barlow. Last year’s winner Peter Andre is also nominated this year.
