Downton Abbey will be back
ITV's Award-winning drama Downton Abbey has been commissioned for a third series, following the Crawley family as they deal with post-war Britain.
The final episode of series two airs this Sunday at 9pm on ITV1, and reportedly looks set to see main character die - as ITV bosses published a new cast list for series three, short one regular cast member.
The new series will see the Crawley family deal with the fall out from the war over an eighteen month period between 1920 and 1921.
Laura Mackie, ITV's director of drama commissioning said, "We're absolutely delighted to be bringing Downton Abbey back for a third series as we follow the inhabitants of Downton as they move into the roaring 20s.
"It's rare to find a drama that the audience connects with so strongly and we're extremely proud to have commission a series that has become such a phenomenon."
