As we wait for all the gossip and (fingers crossed) scandals (excluding Katie Price and Peter Andre avoiding a massive showdown) to surface from last night's annual BRIT Awards held at London's O2 Arena, one of our highlights of the evening was Cheryl Cole presenting Rihanna with Best International Female, before gushing that the Bajan-born star was her "girl crush".
Play it cool, Cheryl!
She's obviously been reading handbag.com seeing as we wrote ten reasons we love Rihanna about six months ago.
On accepting the award, Rihanna said:
"This is so exciting. This means a lot. It doesn't get much better than the Brits. Wow."
The 22-year-old Umbrella singer, along with a show-stopping performance by Plan B, almost stole the night with her raunchy rendition of a medley of hits including, The Only Girl In The World, What's My Name and forthcoming single S&M, wearing first a red dress before stripping into a skimpy black leotard.
Plan B performed two of his hits up on stage, which saw dancers dressed as police or youths and dramatically ended with a policeman being set on fire.
Meanwhile, Cheryl missed out on British Female to singer and songwriter Laura Marling, and her hit Parachutes was also beaten by Tinie Tempah's Pass Out for Best Single.
Other winners of the night included Take That, who picked up Best British Band after opening the show with upcoming single Kidz which saw them surrounded with dancers dressed a police with riot gear. Mark Owen thanked Robbie Williams for returning after a 16-year absence when the boys/men picked up their prize.
Best International Male Artist went to Cee Lo Green but there was no hard feelings from fellow contender and super suave Mark Ronson, who later told host James Corden that he'd put £100 on Cee Lo winning.
Of course, there were no surprises when 16-year-old ("I'm 17 in two weeks!") star Justin Bieber won International Breakthrough Act, as voted for by MTV viewers, and like Cee Lo, Bieber was slightly jet lagged after flying to the UK after the Grammys in LA on Sunday.
Hopefully we'll be back with news of stars disgracing themselves later...in the meantime keep yourself occupied with the Brit award winners 2011.
