Bobby Brown denies that he’s unwelcome at Whitney Houston’s funeral

by Anneke Hak

Bobby Brown has denied reports that he has been banned from attending ex-wife Whitney Houston’s funeral.

A source close to the singer told ABC News that there is no tension between him and his ex-wife’s family, and he has been in contact with them about making the trip to New Hope Baptist Church in Newark Saturday.

Brown also said his 18 year-old daughter, Bobbi Kristina, was recovering well after being hospitalized following Whitney’s death in the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

“My daughter Bobbi Kristina is doing much better,” he said in a written statement.

“We continue to provide love and support to Bobbi Kristina. She is dealing with the tragedy of her mother’s death and would prefer to do it outside of the public eye.

I ask again that our privacy be respected.

Website TMZ previously reported that Brown was upset after being told several members of Whitney’s family did not want him at the singer’s funeral.
