Aguilera defends X Factor performance

Christina Aguilera has denied her performance on last weekend’s X Factor final was too raunchy. Since Sunday’s show there have been over 2,000 complaints from the public, more than 1,000 made directly to TV regulator Ofcom, that claimed Christina and Rihanna’s performances during the show were inappropriate before the 9pm watershed. However, Christina has insisted her version of the song Burlesque [the title song from her new film] was simply about empowering women.
"I don't think there is such a thing as too raunchy when it comes to the art form of burlesque," she told Bang Showbiz. "I think it's very empowering to women to feel confident in their own skin and their own bodies and I think this movie definitely represents that."
