Simon Cowell planning to axe Tulisa from the X Factor judging panel?

Tulisa Contostavlos is reportedly facing the axe from the X Factor judging panel as Simon Cowell plans a shake up to save the show.

According to insiders, Tulisa could be told "within weeks" that she no longer has a place on the show as show bosses plan a way to boost ratings after it lost out to Strictly Come Dancing last year.

Speaking to The Sun, a source said, "She had a good run. Quite apart from her performance on last year's show, you can't have a singer whose album only reached No35 in the charts sitting in judgement on other singers.

"Tulisa has been on the panel for two years. She had a good run, but all good things come to an end."

Rumours suggest fellow judge Louis Walsh could also be in the firing line, although one insider said show creator Simon Cowell will fight to keep his loyal pal on board.

The insider explained, "He will fight tooth and nail to keep him on the show.

"It hasn't reached the shouting stage yet — but if it does, Simon is prepared for the fight."

An X Factor spokesman said, "No formal decisions have been made on the panel for 2013's X Factor as yet."
