WATCH: One Direction premiere first trailer for their 3D movie

The first One Direction 3D movie has been released.

The teaser clip from the band's concert documentary, directed by Super Size Me's Morgan Spurlock, was given it's world premiere on Daybreak.

The One Direction movie, produced by Simon Cowell and Spurlock, will hit cinema on 23 August 2013 through Sony Pictures.

Asked why he wanted to make a movie about the boyband, the filmmaker said, "These guys have gotten so huge in such a short amount of time - why?

"What makes them more special than any other people?"

Cowell previously said, "For anyone who's a fan of the band you're gonna get a chance to really see what it's like preparing for one of these big concert tours, a lot of it is about the fans."
