Tina Fey has confirmed that there are plans to adapt Mean Girls into a musical.
The cult film based on the popular book, Queen Bees & Wannabes, was brought to the big screen thanks to the comedic actress and is celebrated for rocket-launching the careers of Rachel McAdams, Amanda Seyfried and of course, Lindsay Lohan.
Seeing as Tina wrote and starred in the hit flick we can't help but get excited at the musical even just being a possibility right now.
Speaking to E! News, Tina said, "We want to! I would love to, yeah.
"I'm trying to develop it actually with my husband, who does all the music for 30 Rock. And I think Paramount's on board, yeah."
Fey also revealed that she "loved" watching Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey feud over who knows Mean Girls the best on the recent season premiere of American Idol.
She said, "I think Mariah won! Mariah seems to really know - she knew all the characters... Maybe she can play Amy Poehler's part [of Regina George's mum] in the musical, Queen Mariah."
