Tom Cruise’s crazy antics
It’s all been a bit quiet on the Tom Cruise front in recent years. Back in 2005 you couldn’t open a newspaper without reading about the actor’s crazy antics. First he appeared on Oprah and bounced around the sofa like a smurf on Smarties telling the world of his love for Katie Holmes. “You are gone!” Oprah said, “The boy is gone.” Although it was weird, there was actually something quite endearing about the way he felt about Katie. Then he appeared on the Today show and denounced Brooke Shields for taking drugs to deal with depression. When the host, Matt Lauer tried to have a conversation about it with Tom his answer was simple. “You’re glib, Matt… You don’t know the history of psychiatry. I do.”
Next at the British premiere for his film War Of The Worlds Tom Cruise was squirted with water from an interviewer’s microphone for a Channel 4 comedy show. He didn’t react kindly. “I’m here giving you an interview, answering your questions and you do something really nasty,” he said to the reporter, who he refused to let leave. “You’re a jerk.”

Christian Bale’s on-set tantrum
At the beginning of 2009 inboxes all over the country were filling up with the audio from Christian Bale’s Terminator salvation on-set tantrum. We already knew that the star had some anger issues, but this just went above and beyond what anger management classes can help with. The actor was shooting a scene when the film’s director of photography, Shane Hurlbut, walked into his line of sight. “I want you off the f****** set, you’re a p****!” was just one of the many things Christian shouted in the tirade. Hilarious!

Kanye West’s stage invasion
It only happened a few weeks ago and we don’t think anyone’s going to stop talking about it any time soon. Kanye stage-invaded Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech for Best Female Video at the VMAs 2009 saying, “Taylor, I’m gonna let you finish. But Beyoncé had the best music video of all time. Of all time.” Beyoncé then went on to win Best Video Of The Year and, boy, do we bet Kanye felt sheepish. Beyoncé looked horrified as Kanye interrupted Taylor, and later asked the country singer to join her on stage and have her moment.

Ashlee Simpson caught lip-syncing
It wasn’t just the fact that Ashlee Simpson was caught out lip-syncing when her band started playing the wrong song on Saturday Night Live in 2007. It was the fact that Ashlee started to do some bizarre hoedown dance moves and then stormed off the stage in embarrassment.

Janet Jackson’s “wardrobe malfunction”
In 2004 Janet Jackson was in the midst of PR for her new album, when she performed with Justin Timberlake at end of the Superbowl’s halftime show. In front of an estimated 140 million viewers, Justin Timberlake pulled at Janet Jackson’s top and exposed her boob, albeit with a strategically placed star nipple cover. Janet claimed it was a “wardrobe malfunction” but many questioned why she had a nipple cover so conveniently in place. It got Janet the press she wanted, although it wasn’t necessarily all good, the incident became referred to as nipplegate.
