Star status is only confirmed when you’ve got a hoard of paparazzi following your every move, a dog that fits in your handbag and your very own celebrity court case.

Here we take a look at the celebrities who’ve found themselves being sued for big bucks, and the shocking reasons why…

J Lo Vs Flight Attendant

Jennifer Lopez, celebrity gossip, celebrity, celebrity feud, celebrity court case Jennifer Lopez sued over dog attack Accustomed to taking her dogs on airplanes with her, actress, singer and entrepreneur J.Lo probably got the shock of her life when her German Shepherd, Floyd, grabbed hold of flight attendant Lisa Wilson’s trouser leg and caused her to fall to the floor, injuring her back. Wilson claimed that she could no longer work, and claimed that she suffered “great economic loss”. The result? A law suit for £2.5m. We bet Jen wishes she’d left the pampered pooch at home.

Britney Vs Louis Vuitton

Britney Spears, celebrity gossip, louis vuitton, celebrity, celebrity feud, celebrity court case Britney Spears Vs Louis Vuitton Britney Spears got her wrists slapped by fashion house Louis Vuitton after she used images of a car upholstered in Vuitton fabric in the video for her single Do Something. A judge ruled that the image was an “attack” on the Vuitton brand and its luxury image. Sony BMG and MTV Online were guilty of violating counterfeiting laws. The companies were ordered to stop broadcasting or marketing the video and fined £50,000.

Tom Cruise Vs extras

Tom Cruise, celebrity gossip, celebrity, celebrity feud, celebrity court case Tom Cruise dangers of the job Superstar Tom Cruise was reportedly sued for £5m by 11 extras on his movie Valkyrie after they were injured during filming. The extras claimed that they were hurt and injured after they fell from a 1940s style truck, when one of its sides collapsed as it rounded a bend. The unlucky star was not present when the accident took place.

Vanessa Hudgens vs Johnny Vieira

celebrity gossip, celebrity, celebrity feud, celebrity court case,Vanessa Hudgens Vanessa Hudgens On 11 August 2008, Vanessa Hudgens’ former business partner filed court papers demanding more than £2.5m from the star. Producer Johnny Vieira claims that he helped Hudgens to launch her career before her High School Musical fame, and that the star agreed to “share equally” the profits. At one point the star-to-be sent him a photo of herself, inscribing it “Johnny, thank you for everything, without you, I would be nowhere, we will make it BIG - Vanessa Hudgens” But apparently after High School Musical became a hit, Vanessa dumped him, double quick.

Michael Jackson vs the Ruiz family

Michael Jackson, celebrity gossip, celebrity, celebrity feud, celebrity court case Michael Jackson sued The King Of Pop, Michael Jackson, always seems to find himself in hot water. The family of a woman who died at a Santa Maria hospital sued Michael Jackson for allegedly inflicting emotional distress on them. Jackson visited the hospital in 2005, complaining of flu-like symptoms. As a result, Manuela Ruiz, who had suffered a heart attack earlier in the day and was hooked up to a life support machine in a trauma room, was “treated like cargo” and unhooked from her machine to make way for Jackson and his entourage.

Teri Hatcher Vs Hydroderm

celebrity gossip, celebrity,Teri Hatcher, celebrity feud, celebrity court case Teri Hatcher Vs Hydroderm Desperate Housewife Teri Hatcher found herself in the middle of a lawsuit after reportedly singing the praises of a rival cosmetic company to the one she was being paid to endorse. According to the lawsuit, which was filed in December 2007, the 42-year-old actress signed an “exclusive endorsement deal” with Hydroderm in 2005, only to pose for pictures applying CityLips pout plumper (a direct competitor of Hydroderm’s Volumizing Lip Serum). The lawsuit claimed, “Hatcher’s name, image and likeness have been linked to so many competitors’ products (at least 17!) that it is anyone’s guess as to what product keeps her skin and lips youthful.” Ouch. As a result, the company demanded that Hatcher refund the £1.2m endorsement deal and pay £200,000 in expenses. The matter was settled outside of court.

Perez Hilton Vs Blog Reader

celebrity gossip, celebrity, perez hilton, celebrity feud, celebrity court case Perez Hilton sued Celebrity gossipmonger Perez Hilton landed himself a giant lawsuit, when he posted a reader’s abusive email, which branded him a “fat, gay pig” and Angelina Jolie an “ugly whore”, and her work email address, in his “email of the week” section. As a result the e-mailer, Diane Wargo received hate mail at work and lost her job. Diane filed a $25m lawsuit against the blogger claiming that he violated his own privacy agreement. Hilton’s found himself being sued on numerous other occasions, and, although he’s said to earn around $800,000 a year, it must be making a dent by now.

Lindsay Lohan Vs Masha Markova

Lindsay Lohan, celebrity gossip, celebrity, celebrity feud, celebrity court case Lindsay Lohan Lindsay Lohan found herself slammed with court papers after she allegedly stole a mink coat from a party. Masha Markova had been sitting near Lindsay at 10ak in Manhattan when the fur went missing – only for Masha to spot it on Lindsay a few days later in images of the party girl leaving the club. Masha began legal proceedings but then the club returned the coat to her, reeking of alcohol and cigarettes and with a torn lining. The student is now suing LiLo for over £5,000 for “unauthorised three-week rental” of the garment.

Gordon Ramsay Vs Restaurant manager

celebrity gossip, celebrity, gordon ramsay, celebrity feud, celebrity court case Gordon Ramsay Sued Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay probably thought everyone knew what to expect when signing up to take part in his TV programme, Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares. But in April this year the foul-mouthed television personality was sued, along with the show’s programme makers, for £250,000. Martin Hyde, ex-restaurant manager at Dillions, who appeared on the show, claims Ramsay left his reputation in tatters after millions of viewers saw him being labelled a “lazy t****r” on Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares USA.
