Early life
Ashton Kutcher was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Larry and Diane Kutcher and has a fraternal twin, Michael, and an older sister Tausha. Ashton\'s twin brother Michael had a heart transplant, and suffered from cardiomyopathy, giving the family a stressful home life. "I didn\'t want to come home and find more bad news about my brother," Ashton later admitted. "I kept myself so busy that I didn\'t allow myself to feel." Kutcher\'s also revealed that during his adolescence he contemplated committing suicide and at thirteen, he attempted to jump from a Cedar Rapids hospital balcony, but luckily his father intervened. During his senior year Kutcher broke into his high school with his cousins in an attempt to steal money, was arrested leaving the scene, and convicted of third-degree burglary and sentenced to three years probation and 180 hours community service.

In 1997, Ashton Kutcher was studying biochemical engineering student at the University of Iowa when a local modelling talent scout suggested he enter the Fresh Faces of Iowa Competition. Ashton placed first and dropped out of university to pursue modelling, quickly signing with the Next modelling agency in New York. Ashton appeared in ads for Calvin Klein and modelled in Paris and Milan.

After some modelling success, Kutcher upped sticks again and headed to Los Angeles to pursue acting and prove he\'s not just a one trick pony. After his first audition he was cast as Michael Kelso in the television series That 70s Show. After the success of That 70s Show Kutcher went on to star in films such as Dude, Where\'s My Car? (2000) Just Married (2003), The Butterfly Effect (2004) and Guess Who (2005).

Kutcher dated actress January Jones from 1998 to 2001, Ashley Scott from 2001 to 2002, Monet Mazur in 2002, and Brittany Murphy from 2002 to 2003. Following his break-up with Brittany Murphy in early 2003, Kutcher began dating Demi Moore. Moore and Kutcher married on 24 September, 2005, in a private ceremony conducted by a Rabbi of the Kabbalah Centre. About 150 close friends and family of the couple, including Bruce Willis, Moore\'s ex-husband, attended the ceremony. The relationship has attracted lots of scrutiny from the press because of the large age gap between the couple, with Demi being 47 years-old and Ashton 15 years her junior at 32.
