Zoe Saldana Hollywood women rising stars
Zoe Saldana, 30, was born in New Jersey and raised in Queens, NYC. She appeared in the teen road movie Crossroads in 2002, which also starred Britney Spears. She recently co-starred in the action thriller Vantage Point with Dennis Quaid and Lost\'s Matthew Fox. Zoe will take on the iconic role of Lieutenant Uhura in the new Star Trek movie, which is being directed by Lost creator J J Abrahams and is released next year (weirdly, in The Terminal (2004), Zoe played a Trekkie). Zoe\'s second sci-fi blockbuster for 2009 is James Cameron\'s Avatar - set in the distant future, humans discover life on a distant planet.

Ginnifer Goodwin new Hollywood rising stars
Ginnifer Goodwin, aged 30, from Memphis, Tennessee has come a long way from her debut television appearance on Law and Order in 1990. Ginnifer\'s first big screen hit was in the Oscar-winning Walk The Line (2005) starring alongside Joaquin Phoenix\'s Johnny Cash - she played the country singing legend\'s first wife. Ginnifer\'s next role sees her in the romcom He\'s Just Not That Into You with Hollywood heavyweights Jennifer Anniston, Scarlett Johansson and Ben Affleck. The film was inspired by the hugely successful self-help book of the same name, written by former executive story editor for Sex And The City, Greg Behrendt.

Megan Fox, 23, from Rockwood, Tennessee hit the big screen in Transformers in 2007 alongside Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull star Shia LaBeouf. The sequel Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is due for release in 2009. Megan was named the No 1 Sexiest Woman In The World 2008 by FHM readers. This autumn she stars alongside comedian Simon Pegg in How to Lose Friends And Alienate People, the story of a hapless British journalist who tries to make it in big the fashion magazine industry in New York City, based on the memoirs of Toby Young.

Jennifer Hudson, 27, from Chicago, first found fame as a reality TV star in American Idol where she showed off her stunning gospel voice. She made her film debut in the musical magic that was Dreamgirls (2006) alongside Jamie Foxx and Beyonce Knowles - she also won an Oscar that year for her performance. She hit the big screen again when she joined Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Catrall in one of this year\'s most hotly-anticipated movies, Sex And The City, playing Carrie Bradshaw\'s personal assistant. Next up is the drama Winged Creatures in which she plays one of a group of survivors of a random shooting in an LA diner.

Ellen Page hails from Nova Scotia, Canada and at the tender age of 21 she\'s already been nominated for an Academy Award for her role as an unconventional teen who falls pregnant by her best friend in Juno (2007). Amy Adams, 34, was born in Italy, then grew up with her six siblings and Mormon parents in Colorado. Starring opposite Leonardo Di Caprio in Catch Me If You Can was meant to be Amy\'s big break, but her career stalled for a year instead. She was nominated for an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in 2005 for her part in the independent film Junebug and went on to play Will & Grace star Debra Messing\'s sister in the romantic comedy The Wedding Date. 2007 saw her as Tom Hanks\' personal assistant in the political drama Charlie Wilson\'s War, but it was her leading lady role in Disney\'s modern fairytale Enchanted that rocketed Amy Adams to mega-fame last year - she was nominated for a Golden Globe for her turn as all-singing, all-dancing Princess Giselle. Next year sees her in Julia and Julia, the story of a blogger who cooks her way through infamous American cookery writer Julia Child\'s cookbook Mastering The Art Of French Cooking, directed by romcom queen Nora Ephron of Sleepless In Seattle fame. She\'ll also play Ben Stiller\'s leading lady in Night at the Museum 2: Battle of the Smithsonian.

Brazilian actress Alice Braga, 25, shot to fame in the sci-fi thriller I Am Legend in 2007 opposite Hancock star Will Smith. Alice has been acting since she was eight years old when she appeared in a yoghurt commercial. The multi-talented actress is tri-lingual - her native tongue is Portuguese, but she\'s proficient in Spanish and English too. She\'s currently on the big screen in the martial arts drama, Redbelt, which is written and directed by Hollywood heavyweight screenwriter/playwright David Mamet. Later in the summer she can be seen in the hard-hitting drama about immigration in the US, Crossing Over, alongside Indiana Jones And The Crystal Skull star Harrison Ford. The future is bright for Miss Braga.

British actress Emily Blunt, 25, first enjoyed success in the teen drama My Summer Of Love, a tale of sexual exploration between two A-level students, which won Emily the Evening Standard British Film Award for Best Newcomer in 2005. Emily went on to star in the blockbuster The Devil Wears Prada in 2006 as an assistant to Mama Mia star Meryl Streep\'s terrifying fashion magazine editor. She has an array of upcoming movies including comedies Sunshine Cleaning with fellow rising star Amy Adams, and The Great Buck Howard which stars father and son team Tom and Colin Hanks, then we\'ll see her play a young Queen Victoria in a dramatisation of the turbulent early years of her rule in The Young Victoria, in 2009.

Ukranian-born Mila Kunis, 25, moved to Los Angeles when she was seven years old, she has a condition called Heterochromia which causes her to have one blue eye and one hazel eye. Mila\'s best known for starring as Jackie for six years in US TV sitcom That ‘70s Show which also launched the careers of Topher Grace and Ashton Kutcher. Mila hit the big screens when she starred with Russell Brand in the comedy Forgetting Sarah Marshall earlier this year. Her next role sees her getting serious - she stars with Mark Wahlberg in the action thriller Max Payne, playing an assassin out to avenge her sister\'s death. 2009 will see her star in Extract, a comedy written and directed by King Of The Hill creator Mike Judge.
