Mariah Carey married 27-year-old Californian actor Nick Cannon at her home in the Bahamas on 1 May 2008. The pair had been dating for two months. There was much media speculation that the engagement ring that Mariah was flashing at the Tribeca film festival was the same one the Nick had given his ex-fiancee Selita Ebanks, which was estimated to be worth $2.5 million. Nick is the son of famous Los Angeles casting director Benny Cannon. Talking about her new hubby, Mariah said, "It was a love-at-first-sight thing. Since we\'ve been together, we\'ve been inseparable." Mariah has a new tattoo that reads ‘Mrs Cannon\' - class.
