Jesse James\' alleged affair

Sandra Bullock, celebrity, celebrity love life, celebrities behaving badly, jesse james jesse james alleged affair

A large dose of humble was served up to US TV star Jesse James after a tattoo model claimed to have had a year-long affair with him. James\' wife Sandra Bullock promptly pulled out of the UK premiere of her Oscar-winning film The Blind Side - blaming “unforeseen circumstances” – and apparently moved out of her marital home. All that was left for James to do was release a grovelling apology statement. “I am truly very sorry for the grief I have caused them [his family],” the statement read before James claimed the “vast majority” of the allegations were “untrue and unfounded”.

“There is only one person to blame for this whole situation and that is me,” he added. “This has caused my wife and kids pain and embarrassment beyond comprehension and I am extremely saddened to have brought this on them. I hope one day they can find it in their hearts to forgive me. “Beyond that, I will not dignify these matters with any further public comment.” We doubt you could dignify the matters if you tried James, you mess with Sandra you mess with us.

Kanye West\'s stage invasion

Rap star Kanye West’s apology for wrecking Taylor Swift’s moment in the limelight actually made us believe he was sorry for his actions. During the 2009 Grammy awards, Kanye jumped onstage shortly after Swift win the Video Of The Year award, swiped the microphone and told the crowd Beyoncé should have won. The rapper was widely slammed for the stunt with even American president Barack Obama calling him a “jackass”. “It’s been extremely difficult just dealing with the fact that I hurt someone or took anything away from a talented artist, or from anyone,” a crestfallen Kanye told Jay Leno on the Tonight Show. “I’ve only wanted to help people my entire life, I only wanted to give and do something that I felt was right and I immediately knew in this situation that it was wrong and it wasn’t a spectacle that it was actually someone’s emotions that I stepped on. It was just, it was rude, period.” No sh*t Sherlock.

David Letterman\'s affairs

American chat show king David Letterman only ‘fessed up to his affairs, when disgruntled TV producer Robert J Halderman attempted to blackmail him. Instead of paying up Letterman decided to come clean live on air, but failed to contemplate the affect that would have on his wife and other staff on the Late Show. A week later Letterman apologised to his staff, who’d been hounded by journalists trying to uncover who had slept with the talk show host. “I’m terribly sorry that I put the staff in that position, inadvertently, I just wasn’t thinking ahead,” said Letterman before adding, “The other thing is my wife Regina, she has been horribly hurt by my behaviour. When something happens like that if you hurt a person and it’s your responsibility, you try to fix it. And at that point there’s only two things that can happen, either you’re going to make some progress and get it fixed, or you’re going to fall short and not get it fixed. So, let me tell you folks, I got my work cut out for me.” Letterman actually handled the situation like a pro, even getting some laughs from the audience. What a guy!

Hugh Grant\'s prostitution scandal

Hugh Grant, celebrity, celebrity love life, celebrities behaving badly hugh grants prostitution scandal

Film star Hugh Grant set the standard for on-air apologies when he was caught on the end of a ‘sex-act’ from Los Angeles prostitute Divine Brown and arrested. Two weeks later, Hugh, who was dating Liz Hurley at the time, went live on The Tonight show to promote his film Nine Months and told Jay Leno, “I think you know in life what’s a good thing to do and what’s a bad thing, and I did a bad thing, and there you have it.” It’s probably best to know in life what’s bad before you do it though, hey Hugh? Let’s just say Grant won’t be slowing down on Sunset Boulevard anytime soon.

Mel Gibson\'s DUI scandal

Although Mel Gibson never actually apologised during his interview with Diane Sawyer on Good Morning America, he did manage to look at least a little bit sorry (when he wasn\'t creeping us out with his crazy eyebrows) for his DUI actions. Lethal weapon star Mel was arrested in 2006 after being caught speeding and found to be over the limit. Gibson was said to have then become belligerent and made a series of anti-Semitic remarks and is said to have called one of the arresting officers Sugar Tits. “In my case public humiliation on a global scale seems to be what was required,” said Mel before adding, “I don’t believe that Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world, I mean that’s an outrageous, drunken statement.” That’s true Mel, but it’s one that you made. Douche!

Christian Bale\'s tirade apology

When an audio-tape of Christian Bale’s Terminator Salvation onset tirade leaked, he turned LA DJs Kevin and Bean to put forward his side of the story. On the tape the actor was heard threatening the film’s director of photography during a five-minute dressing down. “I’ve got to tell ya’ it has been a miserable week for me,” said Christian, before adding “I have no confusion whatsoever, I was out of order beyond belief… I was way out of order. I acted like a punk I regret that. There is nobody who has heard that tape that is hit harder by it than me. I make no excuses for it, it is inexcusable.
“The thing that disturbs me so much is that I’ve heard a lot of people saying I seem to think I’m better than anyone else,” he added. “And that couldn’t be further from the truth. I am a lucky S.O.B and I never forget that.” We’re not sure about lucky, but we do think Christian’s right, he is an S.O.B.

John Mayer\'s racist remarks

celebrity, celebrity love life, celebrities behaving badly, john mayer, jessica simpson john mayer racist remarks

It seems that John Mayer’s been apologising left, right and centre recently after he dropped the N-word and details about his sex life with ex-girlfriend Jessica Simpson in an interview with Playboy magazine. The musician was widely criticised for telling the men’s magazine “black people love me”, boasted he had a “n***a pass” and described Simpson as “sexual napalm”. Over three tweets, Mayer gave his take on the situation, “I am sorry I used the word. And it\'s such a shame I did because the point I was trying to make was in the exact opposite spirit of the word itself,” he wrote. “It was arrogant of me to think I could intellectualise using it, because I realise there\'s no intellectualising a word that is so emotionally charged.” Oh, so it’s our fault for not getting the irony. Silly us.

Chris Brown\'s apology

After Chris Brown assaulted then-girlfriend Rihanna in January 2009 he’s been desperately trying to get back into the public’s good books (never going to happen). Brown admitted physically assaulting Rihanna in Los Angeles after the pair left a pre-Grammys party. After striking a plea bargain, he was sentenced to five years\' probation and 1,440 hours of community service. Once the initial press attention of the assault had calmed down, Chris had an album to promote, so he released an apology video, in which he spent more time focusing on reading his autocue than looking sincere.

“Ever since the incident I wanted to publicly express my deepest regret and accept full responsibility,” said Chris, before adding. “Although I would do some interviews and answer some questions in the future, I thought it was time you heard directly from me that I am sorry.” Yeah, sorry your career’s gone down the pan. We love that he admits he will be doing interviews in the future – when he finally goes bankrupt we’d imagine.

Tiger Woods\' sex addiction

When World No 1 golfer Tiger Woods was caught out over a string of affairs, the whole world was up in arms. So, after a period receiving treatment for sexual addiction in a rehab clinic, Tiger’s publicist arranged a press conference to try and do damage control. “What I did is not acceptable and I am the only person to blame,” Tiger moped. “I stopped living by the core values I was taught to believe in. I knew my actions were wrong, but I convinced myself normal rules didn’t apply. I know I have bitterly disappointed all of you. I have made you question who I am and how I could’ve done the things I did. I am embarrassed that I have put you in this position. For all that I have done, I am so sorry.” Pitiful. Hey Tiger, if we forgive you will you promise to shut up?

Mark Owen\'s 10 affairs

celebrity,celebrity love life,celebrities behaving badly,Mark Owen,take that mark owen 10 affairs

Take That’s good-guy-turned-bad Mark Owen< apologised after admitting he had cheated repeatedly on his partner of five years, before they married in 2009. In a confession to The Sun, Owen said, “I’m so deeply sorry for the pain my actions have caused my family and friends – I’d like to ask the media to please respect the privacy of my wife and children during this difficult time.” Should’ve done that yourself first surely Mark, there’s nothing respectful about giving a tabloid a tell-all interview as a way to say, “honey, I’m sorry”.
