Natasha Richardson
Actress Natasha Richardson tragically died on 18 March from the injuries she received days earlier while skiing. The actress fell on a beginners’ slope at Mont Tremblant resort near Quebec, Canada and initially showed no sign of injury but was soon taken to a nearby hospital before being flown to the Lennox Hill Hospital in New York in a critical condition. Natasha won the lead actress in a musical award at the1998 Tony Awards for her appearance in the Roundabout Theatre Company’s acclaimed production of Cabaret. The show was helmed by Sam Mendes and co-directed and choreographed by Rob Marshall. Among the praise for her performance, the New York Times called Richardson “spectacular”.
