In a similar move to her Sex And The City character, actress Kirstin Davis adopted a baby girl. Although unlike Charlotte York, her SATC character, Kristen opted for a domestic U.S. adoption and is currently not in a relationship. Having adopted the baby several months before it was made public, Kristin describes her new daughter Gemma Rose Davis as a “wish come true.” And said in her statement to the press, “this is something I have wanted for a very long time.” The 46 year old still plans to keep busy with her acting projects including Journey 2: The Mysterious Island and a potential Sex And The City sequel, as well as her work as a global ambassador for Oxfam and a patron for the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust. We bet Sarah Jessica Parker will be saying, ‘I Don’t Know How She Does It?’

Not only are they expecting twins but they already have one biological daughter, Shiloh, born in May 2006, and three adopted children. The most recent addition to the clan is a four-year-old Vietnamese boy name Pax Thien who they adopted a year ago. He joined their six-year-old son Maddox, adopted from Cambodia and three-year old daughter Zahara from Ethiopia. With six kids in the house next year, it\'ll be a wonder if Brangelina manage to fit any filming in!

Calista Flockhart

In 2000, Flockhart rang in the new year in a New York hospital watching the birth of her new son, Liam. The Ally McBeal star was adopting Liam from a woman whom she had met on several occasions. After beginning her relationship with Ford, she soon took on the mother role with his four children from two previous marriages. Although they do not have any children of their own, she has frequently denied rumours that she avoided pregnancy for cosmetic reasons. According to the Guardian she said: "I will have children naturally when the time is right but I want to give an opportunity to a child who needs a mom right now."

Madonna and Guy Ritchie

Madonna, celebrity, guy ritchie, baby, celebrity adoption Madonna and Guy Ritchie Madonna\'s adoption of 13-month-old boy from Malawi was not an easy process and caused an international furore. First, the boys\' father, Yohane, claimed to have not understood what he had agreed to in regards to the adoption. Then, allegations were made saying that Madonna and husband Guy Ritchie\'s celebrity status had allowed them to bend Malawian law which does not allow non-residents to adopt. Human rights groups were also up in arms that wealthy show business personalities should not be allowed to "cherry-pick" children from Third World countries. The adoption was successfully finalised in Malawi on 28 May 2008, but neither Madonna nor Guy Ritchie attended the court hearing.

Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman

Tom Cruise,Nicole Kidman, celebrity, baby, tomkat, celebrity adoption Tom Cruise & Nicole Kidman When Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman first stepped out in public it was a paparazzi\'s dream. Tom and Nicole married in 1990 but experienced a lot of difficulties getting pregnant. So they adopted two children, Isabella, 15, and Connor, 13 - the kids both came from impoverished backgrounds on America\'s East Coast, and had been put up for adoption by parents who couldn\'t afford to raise them. Since then, Tom and Nicole have divorced and Tom has had a biological daughter by new wife Katie Holmes. Nicole is currently expecting her first child with hubby Keith Urban. Connor Cruise is set to follow in his parents\' footsteps - he\'s just landed his first movie role playing a young version of Will Smith.

Meg Ryan

In 2006, the star of When Harry Met Sally returned from China with an adopted baby girl, Charlotte. Meg changed her new daughter\'s name to Daisy True, because, "She has the most honest, open beautiful face you will ever see." Ryan also has an older son, Jack, from her previous marriage to The Day After Tomorrow star Dennis Quaid.

Lionel and Brenda Richie

Nicole Richie, celebrity, baby, celebrity adoption, lionel richie Lionel and Brenda Richie You may be surprised to know this but Nicole Richie is actually adopted - the reality TV star was adopted by Lionel and his ex-wife Brenda in 1984. The couple went through the adoption process with three-year-old Nicole\'s mother, one of Lionel\'s backstage assistants who\'d had a fling with one of his session drummers. The adoption was not formalised until 1990, and since then Lionel has fathered two children by his other ex-wife, Diane Alexander.

Diane Keaton

diane keaton, celebrity, baby, celebrity adoption Diane Keaton Diane Keaton has never married nor produced her own offspring, but she did adopt two children in her 50s. In 1996 she adopted a daughter, Dexter and in 2001 a son, Duke. The adoptions caused a debate over what the maximum age for adoptive parents should be. Now 62, Keaton is still single but loves being a mother. According to the Independent she said, "My children have given me the most humbling, shocking, amazing and defining relationship of my life. I always spent too much time worrying whether a man loves me but I\'ve found raising a child the most demanding and humanising of all loves."

Steven Spielberg and Kate Capshaw

celebrity, baby, celebrity adoption,Kate Capshaw,Steven Spielberg Steven Spielberg & Kate Capshaw There\'s no sleeping in the Spielberg house; with seven children running around who could get any sleep? Two of the children come from Spielberg and Caplin\'s first marriages and a further three are their biological kids. Two are adopted, one is an African American, Theo, born in 1988, while the other is a daughter, Mikaela George who they found through the public adoption agencies in 1996 and was born shortly after that year\'s Oscars. Funny enough, Capshaw made a statement at that time saying, "We are so thrilled to welcome Mikaela into our lives, the sixth and final addition to our family." However, nine months later she gave birth to their seventh child, Destry.

Michelle Pfeiffer and David E Kelly

michelle pfeiffer, celebrity, baby, celebrity adoption Michelle Pfeiffer & David E Kelly When Michelle Pfeiffer adopted her daughter, Claudia Rose in 1993, allegations were made that she had "bought" the child before flying her to LA in a private jet. Pfeiffer insisted the allegations were false and she had used a New York agency to find her daughter. She said that no money was exchanged and was infuriated when reports came out that Claudia was a "designer baby". Not long after adopting Claudia, she fell in love and married David E Kelly, a writer and producer for Ally McBeal. Since then they have had one son, John, in 1994.

The rest of the Farrow clan includes: Daisy, Misha, Malone, Keili-Shea and finally Thaddeus, a polio victim who was abandoned at a Calcutta railway station. It left me with the desire to relieve suffering."
