The Rolling Stones rocker has revealed he is 'worried' about the 24-year-old singer and admits that he could have easily ended up like her in his youth if he hadn't had a warning 'voice in my head'.
Winehouse was meant to be supporting the veteran band on their Bigger Bang tour but pulled out after she was forced to enter rehab in August as a result of a reported drug melt down.
'Amy is a brilliant artist who makes fantastic music. She has class,' Jagger told the Sun.
'But I'm worried she might die if she goes down the road that she has taken.
'If my mind had not always told me that I should not do too much I could have ended up like Amy years ago. But I always had that voice in my head that kept me on my toes and told me to stop altogether in the end. I realised I didn't want to die young.'
