Actress Christina Applegate has an early form of breast cancer a statement released by her spokesperson this week confirmed. \"Christina Applegate was diagnosed with an early form of breast cancer,\" the statement read. \"Benefiting from early detection through a doctor ordered MRI, the cancer is not life threatening. Christina is following the recommended treatment of her doctors and will have a full recovery. No further statement will be issued at this time.\" Christina became a spokesperson for Lee National Denim Day - a fundraiser to benefit Women\'s Cancer Programs, a few years ago after her mother survived the disease.

Peter Letterese, a former member, filed court papers against the church claiming £125million and using the US\'s RICO (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organisation) laws normally used for dealing with the organised crime calling the church a \"crime syndicate\". \"Scientology head David Mascavige is aided and abetted by the actions of Tom Cruise, his right-hand man for foreign and domestic promotion,\" the legal papers said.
