Liz Rosenberg, Madonna\'s long time spokeswoman caved in and issued a statement on Tuesday to counter rumours that the star is divorcing Guy Ritchie and had started seeing a US baseball star. "Madonna\'s husband Guy arrived in New York last night to be with his wife and family (not in a last ditch attempt to save his marriage, which does not need saving)," her statement read. "There are no plans for Madonna and Guy to divorce." She also addressed fresh rumours that Madonna and New York Yankees star Alex Rodriguez were dating. "Madonna and Alex have the same manager, Guy Oseary. They have met. Madonna took her kids to a Yankees game last week.”

"We\'ve known he\'s not been well for three or four days," a spokesman for Sir Alan said. "He\'s frustrated he can\'t be at work because he wants to get going but he knows that he needs to be at home. [Sir Alan\'s] certainly not furious. People get ill and he understands that." Lee apparently fell in Spain last week while holidaying with his girlfriend.

I saw my mother unhappy every day," she told Elle magazine, saying how seeing her mother shoot dead her abusive father in self defence when she was growing up has understandably put her off marriage for life. "What happened with my father was extreme, but my mother and I couldn\'t let it determine the rest of our lives. As a kid I didn\'t dream about my wedding day because I knew marriage wasn\'t exactly the stuff of dreams. I also don\'t believe in \'happy ever after\'. Things could end tomorrow."

Amy Winehouse won’t be facing charges over an incident at this year’s Glastonbury festival police have confirmed this week. During her Pyramid Stage performance on Saturday the singer jumped down into the security pit and appeared to punch a member of the audience. “No complaint has yet been made but when one is we will investigate the matter fully,” said Inspector John Fuller of Somerset and Avon Police. A spokesman for Amy played down the incident and said she was simply, “lashing out when someone tried to grab her hair”. James Gostelow, 25, who claims he was the audience member struck by Amy said, “I saw a hat being thrown from behind me that hit Amy\'s beehive. She looked down, saw me looking up, and her elbow went for me. It is all part of the Glastonbury experience.”

Despite her atrocious 2007 showing Britney Spears could be handed another chance at this year’s MTV Awards the music channel’s president said on Monday. “Everyone deserves a second or third chance, right?” Van Toffler, president of MTV Networks Music Group told The Associated Press. Britney’s performance of Gimme More at last year’s show was widely panned but when asked by reporters if he was joking Toffler said, “Sorta, who knows? I\'m not sure how we top Britney opening the show.”
