Here at Handbag Towers, we’re all watching our backs. Apparently Heather Mills has suggested journalists may suffer bad karma for writing about her being nuts. “The truth always outs in the end - no one gets away with those things,” Heather told the Observer. “Certain journalists have written horrible things, and then they’ve got cancer, or they’ve had a tumour, or they’ve died. And it’s terrible for them, but they’ve done really evil things. I truly believe things come back around.”

Heather then went on to complain the she’s not seen as more of a Princess Diana-type figure for all of her charity work. But we’re pretty sure Princess Di wouldn’t have suggested that people who write not-so-nice stories will be visited upon by karma.

Chris Brown released a video apologising for assaulting Rihanna in February. Last month the singer pleaded guilty for felony assault by means likely to cause great bodily injury as part of a plea bargain deal. In exchange for his plea, he was sentenced to five years’ probation, 180 days of community labour and ordered to complete a year of domestic violence classes. We think that the two-minute video is a little too late. Although we appreciate that Brown may have got lawyers to write a script for him to ensure that he doesn’t make any legal blunders, we do think that he could have learnt his lines and put a little bit more effort in.

In the video Brown says to the camera, “I’m not going to sit here and make any excuses. I take great pride in me being able to exercise self-control and what I did was inexcusable. I am very sad and ashamed of what I’ve done.” He takes great pride in exercising self-control? What, is he proud that he didn’t kill her?

The singer hinted that he thinks Katie is “distinctly average” when he described some songs from his forth-coming album to the Daily Star. “There’s a song about a glamour model, mentioning no names,” he explained. “But if you strip away all the fake hair, nail extensions, all the artificial gloss and glamour, there’s something distinctly average.” We’re Team Pete, all the way.

The pair have reportedly been rowing over what to feed their six children. The Daily Mail reports that Brad, a long time vegetarian, wants to convert the children, while Angelina sees no problem with them eating meat. “Brad hates seeing the children eating meat and he’s annoyed with how much red meat Angelina has,” a source claimed. “He goes on about the damage caused by methane gases from the cattle and that the family should go veggie but Angie says that’s never going to happen.” Sounds as though Brad may be on the market sooner than you think, ladies. Form an orderly queue, we saw him first.

An insider told the National Enquirer, “Vanessa feels humiliated by what she perceives to be Zac cheating on her. It stings so much more because Megan is one of the hottest women on the planet.” We bet it does.

Mischa Barton is said to be “making improvements” and planning to return to work just one week after she was hospitalised in Los Angeles. Her publicist, Craig Schneider, revealed, “Mishca is still seeking treatment but making improvements.” Unconfirmed reports say that the actress was sectioned and placed under psychiatric care at Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre. Schneider didn’t confirm what treatment Mischa is receiving but did add that she is hoping to start work on her new show, The Beautiful Life, later this month. We hope Mischa’s doing OK, but can’t help but think that maybe she should take some more time off. She’s clearly been doing something wrong? What do you think?

Hard-man Kiefer Sutherland will not face charges for his part in an alleged assault on New York fashion designer Jack McCullough. The 24 actor had been accused of breaking the hard man’s nose with a head butt, in what we can only assume was Kiefer getting mixed up with his 24 character, Jack Bauer. Although Sutherland and McCullough released a joint statement after the incident saying that they had settled their differences, police continued their investigation. A representative for the New York District Attorney Office confirmed that criminal charges have been dropped because the victim would not cooperate with prosecutors.

When asked what the man planned to do with the animal, he replied, “Don’t know, probably eat it.” Vegetarian Leona decided there and then that she would save the bunny from its fate. “Leona is the proud owner of a new white rabbit called Melrose which she is keeping in her garden,” a source told The Sun. We love the fact that she just bought the homeless man’s rabbit and left him on the street.

The next time they went out, it was to dinner at The Tower Bar in LA a month later, but now they’re in same film, the romance has ignited.” Apparently the pair even, “practise kissing scenes after the cameras stop rolling.” The scandal!
But it looks like Gerard’s having none of it. “This is just annoying. People say I’m always dating so and so, and sometimes three people in one day,” he moaned to People magazine. “Then this kind of thing happens and people start to associate me more with that. It gets ridiculous.”
