New mum Angelina Jolie is being lined up to star in a new action movie in a part originally said to be Tom Cruise’s Variety magazine claim. “Universal beefed up Jolie's role in Wanted and then marketed the action film squarely on Jolie's shoulders,” the industry magazine say. “Jolie is the rare female who is viable in an action genre that has been almost the exclusive domain of men.” Tom had originally been pencilled in to star in Edwin A. Salt - the story of a CIA agent fighting to clear his name after being accused of being a spy - but movie bosses are said to have ordered a script rewrite and a sex change for the lead character.
