Estate agents have reported a rise in inquiries from young property buyers looking for homes where they can keep chickens. The new trend, cunningly coined by the media as "the Jamie effect" follows on from TV chef Jamie Oliver\'s recent investigation into the treatment of battery-farmed chickens. Not only has the property market profited from Jamie\'s poking around, chicken farmers are also coining it in. A standard chook will now set prospective yuppie chicken farmers back by up to £12 each, while an even trendier rare breed could cost around £150.

Since her new cookery series How To Cheat At Cooking appeared on BBC2 last week, a furore has been gathering pace over her new chav-like approach to meal preparation. In a misjudged attempt to appeal to a new audience, Delia has started using - wait for it - tinned food (gasp!). The madness doesn\'t end there either, now she\'s not even chopping anything, recommending that the busy chef plump for pre-prepared veg and frozen sliced potatoes. Does Delia not realise how much waste she is encouraging us all to produce? Sort it out, luv!

US tat mag, The National Enquirer, has published photos of a haggard looking Patrick Swayze taking a sneaky fag break following his chemotherapy sessions at Stanford Cancer Centre in California. This faux media outrage directed at a man suffering so blatantly from pancreatic cancer has had the blogging community in uproar and rightly so. Leave the guy alone already.

This year\'s Sport Relief weekend raised a whopping £20million, £5.5million of which came from an anonymous donor! The rest was raised by thousands of people braving the cold to take part in various events around the country, including fun runs and sponsored cycles. Celebrities and sports stars that joined in this year\'s event included Connie Fisher, Alan Shearer, James Cracknell, Frank Bruno and Dame Kelly Holmes.
