Strictly Come Dancing in “fix” scandal

Former Strictly Come Dancing contestant Joe Calzaghe has accused the dance show of being fixed.

Joe Calzaghe has said he believes BBC dance show Strictly Come Dancing is “a fix”. Former world light heavyweight champion Joe and partner Kristina Rihanoff were voted off the show in the fifth week after losing a dance off against Zoe Lucker and partner James Jordan. However, Joe has claimed producers forced his exit after he insulted fellow contestant and Coronation Street star Craig Kelly. "Don't you think it's odd we went out when we were in the bottom for four weeks and the public kept voting for us?” Joe told the Daily Mail. "We had the highest votes every week, the producers told us. Then all of a sudden we lost out in the judges' vote. Something was up.
“I know it's down to something I said about Craig Kelly. It was worse than a swear word,” Calzaghe added. "They were really angry with me. So you can say it - Strictly Come Dancing is a fix. I don't care, we shouldn't have gone out so early." A spokesman for the BBC show called Calzaghe’s suggestions “ridiculous” adding, "The judges base their opinion on the quality of the dancing."
