Sir Paul McCartney to compose Shrek soundtrack?

The former Beatle's song  Live And Let Die have already been used in Shrek 3, which starred Justin Timberlake and Cameron Diaz, and now Sir Paul is in talks to write the original score for the next instalment in the franchise.

The 65-year-old musical legend may even voice a character in the film, according to reports.

Beatrice, Sir Paul's three-year-old daughter with Heather Mills, is reportedly egging her dad on because of her love for the films, but he has admitted to being a huge Shrek fan himself.

A source tells the Daily Express: 'Producers want Paul to compose some original tunes for the next one. He could even briefly voice a character.

'There have been meetings and apparently he's very keen, because his daughter is a fan.'
