Former Take That star Robbie Williams has said the treatment he received while in rehab for a painkiller addiction may have saved his life.

Robbie Williams has admitted his 2007 stay in rehab for his painkiller addiction saved his life. "Robbie Williams does not go into rehab just if his life gets a bit out of control. It was damn serious,” he explained to German magazine Stern. "Death had to knock on my door to help me with my decision. I'm aware I have a self-destructive character, but does this hold me back from being happy? No."
