An official review into the cost of Michael Jackson's memorial show has been requested by Los Angeles council officials, the BBC report. Tuesday's service was said to have cost the city - which is currently believed to be in half a billion dollars of debt - $1.4m (£864,000) in policing and traffic control costs. Los Angeles councilman Dennis Zine said the city's taxpayers, "are getting ripped off" at a meeting on Thursday before asking if the event's promoters or producers might provide "reimbursement to the city to replenish the public safety and other critical funds".
