The Prince and Kate were photographed leaving Boujis nightclub in central London in the early hours of the morning and were chased by paparazzi on motorbikes and in cars.
Prince William finds the behaviour particularly 'incomprehensible' given the fact that an inquest into the death of his mother, Princess Diana, is currently taking place.
Diana's Mercedes crashed in a Paris tunnel in 1997 while being chased by photographers.
In a rare statement, the Prince's press secretary Paddy Harverson said: 'Having already been photographed leaving a club, he and Kate Middleton were then pursued in his car by photographers on motorcycles, in vehicles and on foot.
'This aggressive pursuit was potentially dangerous and worrying for them.
'It seems incomprehensible, particularly at this time, that this behaviour is still going on.'
