Philip Schofield has spoken after This Morning were accused of ambushing Kerry Katona during her ramshackle interview on Wednesday. The former Atomic Kitten star slurred throughout the interview and blamed her performance on her medication. "She arrived very late and didn't give anyone any time to sit down and talk to her,” Philip explained to BBC Radio 1 “She came through to the studio, we kissed her on the cheek and the programme went on air, so at no point had we any idea what condition she might be in. There’s no way that our producer would have allowed that interview to go ahead, had we known the situation she'd found herself in that morning. The last thing I want to do is to witness a car crash in front of my eyes." Kerry’s long time publicist Max Clifford has slammed the interview and insisted it should never have taken place. "In my view it was totally the wrong thing to do - it shouldn't have happened," he told Newsbeat. "I need to sit down and talk to her. Kerry is more than just a client. I've grown very close to her over the last five years through all the dramas and heartache she's had.” Before adding, “I am increasingly concerned for her health."
