Peter Andre has confessed he was prepared for a public backlash after he split from Katie Price, New magazine reports. "I walked out, so I expected everyone to turn on me. I said to my manager that leaving her might be the end of my career, but I was prepared to do it because I had to leave," Peter revealed. "I think that if I acted differently [after the split], everyone would have turned against me. But I certainly didn't expect the support I got. I was waiting for it to all crumble. It's [his confidence] up to about six and a half now. I would rather it climb slowly, so I feel great when it happens. I'm not always smiling, but I feel good."Meanwhile, Katie's new man, Alex Reid, has said Andre's son has called him dad. "Junior did actually once call me 'dad'. Of course, I corrected him immediately. I said, 'No I'm not daddy, I'm Alex'. As much as I'd love to be his father, he has a dad," Reid told OK magazine before talking about an alleged dispute he had with Peter Andre when he tried to speak to Junior on the phone. "Katie shouted through, 'Junior wants to speak to you!' And I said, 'Are you sure?' because I thought, I don't want to be disrespectful to Pete's position at all," Reid said. "But Junior was asking and asking. So I picked up the phone and said, 'Hello Junior!' and there was Pete's voice on the other end, 'Nah it's not happening, mate'.
"I told him I was totally cool with that and let him have a go at me a bit. He said, 'Stop playing happy family with my kids. You're probably an alright guy, but I don't want it'."
