Peter Andre has revealed anxiety over his children's future rather than news of Katie Price and Alex Reid's shock wedding caused him to break down during a live TV interview. Last week, Andre appeared on Kay Burley's Afternoon Live to discuss his latest album. However, the interview quickly switched to the subject of his personal life following news earlier in the day of Katie Price and Alex Reid's Las Vegas wedding. During the interview, Andre was played footage of a previous quote from Dwight Yorke where the footballer accused Andre of disrespect for attempting to adopt his son Harvey. Andre angrily fired back before tearfully calling the interview to an early end after Burley asked how he would feel if Alex Reid tried to adopt his children.
"Many people jumped to the wrong conclusion and thought I was crying because Kate has married Alex Reid, but nothing could be further from the truth," Peter explained in his regular New magazine column. "I was crying because after showing me some footage of Dwight Yorke saying how disrespectful it was of me to want to adopt Harvey, Kay asked me how I'd feel if Alex wanted to adopt my children. I really wasn't expecting her to go down this route and I admit it completely threw me.
"My kids are my life and the thought of someone taking them away from me is my worst nightmare," Peter added. "She really hit a raw nerve and I just lost my composure."
