Pete Doherty turns to religion

Babyshambles frontman Pete Doherty has turned to religion to beat the boredom in prison.

Pete Doherty has reportedly turned to Islam to help him through his current jail term sources have told The Sun. Pete, currently serving 14 weeks in Wormwood Scrubs for probation violation, has apparently been reading the Koran daily. He first requested the holy book after to being moved to the prison's segregation wing last week. "He’s been reading the Koran since he went into segregation. He’s got a lot of Muslim friends and they’ve been on at him for ages to study it. Now he’s on his own he’s got time on his hands to study it," a source said before hinting that it might be helping the rock wild man. "I’m surprised how much it has calmed him down as he was very on edge inside. He definitely seems more chilled. He’s lapping it up and really interested in it. I think it’s helping him in there.”
