Babyshambles mainman Pete Doherty has admitted he was once so out of it on drugs he nearly killed his own cat with a spade. “I got a shovel and was going to kill one of the cats. That was when I was like, you know, 'I’m a bit of a mess.' It was a bit of a crazy time,” Pete told the NME, before confessing to cheating drug tests. “I was pretty much back into the heroin cycle. I was banging it. The only time I tested clean was when I used someone else’s p**s. It was a fair cop [going to jail for breaching probation], really.” But he insisted he legitimately received a certificate indicating he was free of drugs upon his release. “I can’t go back to using drugs.
