Babyshambles singer Pete Doherty has been released from Wormwood Scrubs after serving just 29 days of a 14-week sentence. Pete was given the punishment for probation violations stemming from his arrests for drug and driving offences. Outside prison Pete told waiting reporters that he was looking forward to a rum and coke and also showed a medical certificate confirming he’d passed a drugs test inside. “I knew it was going to be a bit rough to start with, with the overcrowding and the medical facilities,” Pete explained. “Although they do their best,” he added, “they are good, they can't really cater for the average junkie,” before borrowing a journalist’s phone to sort out a lift home.
