Peaches Geldof denies overdose

Sir Bob Geldof's daughter Peaches has denied she overdosed on drugs earlier this year.

Peaches Geldof has denied she suffered a drugs overdose earlier this year but has admitted to having had “a bad experience.” “It was blown completely out of proportion. I never overdosed. Drugs for me are something I don't normally meddle in,” the presenter/DJ said in a revealing interview with the Sunday Times Style Magazine. “I have tried drugs in my life, I'm not going to deny it, but I don't need to go to rehab because I never, and will never, have any sort of habit with drugs. I'm not friends with Amy Winehouse, I don't live in Camden. I've never smoked crack. I've had experiences with drugs - some good, some bad - and it's not something I want to pursue. I can say now, I've never overdosed.” Peaches also spoke about the comparisons to her late mother Paula Yates. “The journalists who write this, don’t they ever step back and think: ‘How bizarre, I’m comparing a 19-year-old girl I have never met to her dead mother’? Do they never think how sick that is? It’s my dead mother. I don’t want people writing about that,” Peaches said. “The sad thing is, I didn’t know her that well. I was 11 when she died. It wasn’t like I was 15 and knew everything about her.”
