Paula Abdul has slammed the makers of American Idol for letting an obsessed fan audition for the judges. Paula told Sirius Radio she had asked producers not to allow fan Paula Goodspeed to audition as she had been sending “disturbing” letters to the judge and frequently following her for 18 years only to be told it “would make good television.” Following her audition, where she was rejected by all the judges, Ms Goodspeed was found dead in a car near Abdul’s home after taking an apparent overdose. When asked by radio host Barbara Walters why she continued to appear on the show, Paula replied: “Well, I’m under contract.”
