Thieves have stolen £200,000 worth of vintage wristwatches from actor Orlando Bloom’s Los Angles home. Although some of the eight watches are more than 40 years old, they were all said to be in “superb” condition, according to the Telegraph. Six were Rolex models and included a special antimagnetic version called a Milgauss that was one of the first 80 of its type produced in the 1950s. Vintage watch experts said that that it could be worth more than £120,000. Other stolen pieces include a £20,000 Rolex Submariner of the type worn by Sean Connery in the James Bond movie Goldfinger and a 1970s Explorer model known as a “Steve McQueen” because it was a type favoured by the Great Escape actor. Jewellery and cash are also thought to have been taken, after burglars entered the Hollywood Hills home through a window. Orlando has spent a “considerable sum” upgrading security at the home since buying it two years ago, according to website TMZ. A source told the Daily Mail, “Orlando is gutted that his personal space has been invaded. He should be there right now to let the police know what has been taken.”
