The Lebanese-born British pop sensation is being threatened with a lawsuit over his stage name after a little-known Belgian reggae singer, also called Mika, claims that she registered the name in the 1980s.
She is adamant that the Grace Kelly hit-maker, whose real name is Mica Penniman, is flouting her legal rights by releasing material under the same name.
The reggae singer, who has released five albums to date in her native Belgium, said: 'I was called Mika before him and even registered the name. Even though his real name is Mica, I think he should change it.'
A source told the 'Sun' newspaper: 'She's not happy. There's only enough room for one Mika in the pop world and she was here first.'
The British artist Mika released his hugely successful debut album, 'Life in Cartoon Motion', earlier this year.
